Teaching has been a big part of my life for the past 37 years. I began in Art, then moved to Gifted and Talented, to remedial reading and mathematics, and finally into the regular classroom. The second half of my career has been in private education, focusing mainly on middle school. I am currently teaching middle and high school drama and spending two days assisting in the fifth grade.
I studied at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for undergrad and my master’s work was completed at East Carolina University.
My husband Danny and I live in Pawleys Island with our dog River and two cats named Snickers and Gilbert. We have two adult children, Daniel and Elizabeth, and one granddaughter, Charlie Bear. In my free time I enjoy gardening, baking and studying scripture.
