In this course students will continue acquiring the critical and analytical skills necessary for understanding the historical development of our present global culture. Student will gain an appreciation of how Modern European Culture resulted from an interaction between Christian Europe Eastern and North African and Arab Islam, a revolution in scientific and artistic thinking, and an explosion in technological innovations. Modern World History will be viewed through the prism of European Colonialism, highlighting the problems interwoven into the fabric of modern globalism. Students will also gain a deeper understanding of the place of our own cultural in the global climate of European colonialization, revolutionary backlash against colonialism, and the move towards globalization.
